BREAKING NEWS: As hurricanes and elections dominate headlines, another formidable challenge looms: the 2024 Port Strike, set to impact the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico this Tuesday. Reuters reports the International Longshoremen’s Association has confirmed the strike, disrupting port service from Maine to Texas, but disrupting businesses nationwide.
#Supplychain executives and #CEOs reliant on timely goods shipments are on high alert, preparing for significant disruptions. Industries like #automotive and #electronics, which depend on imported parts and assemblies for final assembly in the U.S., as well as retailers relying on foreign goods, face the threat of increased costs and delays in product availability which ultimately all leads into poor and disappointing customer experiences. Not good.
With one disruption after another (Pandemics, weather issues, strikes, port congestion, trucker protests, etc.) and now this anticipation of a full port strike, it has urged companies to re-evaluate their supply chain strategies and consider things like: alternative shipping routes, increasing inventory levels to cushion against delays and a digital manufacturing partner like Fictiv, whose custom mechanical parts and assembly production can flex almost instantaneously to give our customers both a safe pair of hands and the ultimate amount of flexibility and agility.
Businesses are exploring a more resilient supply chain model while desperately seeking to reduce the number of suppliers they deal with. Almost an oxymoron when you think about it. But somehow Fictiv is addressing this perplexing challenge through our Global and Digitally-connected Supply Chain.
Our goal and mission is to deliver a supply chain and set of manufacturing capabilities that flex and scale with our customers from #CAD to commercialization. And so far it’s working!
With capabilities across four major regional nodes in the USA, China, India and Mexico, we are poised to solve almost any supply chain disruption, export tax dilemma, inventory issue, you name it. The difference between us and your traditional approach is that you are never LOCKED in to any type of infrastructure, geography or approach with Fictiv. And because we are masters at #prototyping and #DFM on the front end, we can help you with your designs early on to ensure they are manufacturable and ready for production downstream.
There are multiple reasons to work with a digital supply chain and manufacturing partner like us, but another big one is going to hit this Tuesday and we are ready to discuss how you can look at an alternative network for your parts and assemblies NOW, through the Fictiv network. So don’t hesitate to reach out for help at any time.
