The women at Fictiv are extraordinary, and we’re thrilled to continue our celebration of them in honor of Women’s History Month. Today we’re spotlighting Winnie Stoeffler. Winnie is Vice President of Business Operations & Systems Strategy at Fictiv.
Here are Winnie’s views on women’s empowerment:
What is a women’s empowerment moment that impacted you?
Winnie: I remember as a young woman seeing the grandeur of Princess Diana for the first time — it opened up my imagination about what women’s empowerment truly meant. I would watch her on TV and admire her uncommon strength, kindness, courage, and grace. Like most women at the time, I did my best to emulate those characteristics. It felt especially necessary in a world where so much is asked and expected of moms and women alike. She will always be a hero I hold dear to my heart.
Who are some women you’ve looked up to?
Winnie: While I’ve been lucky to cross paths with plenty of extraordinary women, my mother is, without a doubt, the woman that has had the greatest impact on me. She taught me to value and cherish the wonderful moments in life and also how to persevere in difficult times. In my mind, she embodies resilience with the sacrifices she made for her family, and I strive to live up to the standard she set in my personal and professional interactions.
What does Women’s History Month mean to you?
Winnie: Women’s history month is an acknowledgment of the contributions that women have made throughout history, and exemplifies the progress women have made. It’s an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments and highlight the achievements of women that have come before me.
What advice would you give other women looking to build a career in your field?
Winnie: Don’t underestimate your value. Build confidence in who you want to be. Aim high and have confidence in yourself. Take control and seek out opportunities that fulfill your aspirations.
How has Fictiv played a supportive part in women’s empowerment?
Winnie: Fictiv empowers women through gender diversity and equality. It becomes truly evident when you see strong and intelligent women at every level of the organization. Fictiv shows commitment to championing their success and supporting their professional development and growth.
