Need show models and low-volume proof of concept for 10 or more parts? Urethane casting is a great option. Fictiv has supported Urethane Casting for many years, but we’ve just expanded the program to make it even better.
We now offer more ways to make Urethane Casting with Fictiv easier than ever. This expansion includes:
- Near-shoring as well as international options for production
- Additional materials
- Additional online finish options
- Additional online secondary options
Expanded Geographic Support and Near-Shoring Options
We’ve offered Urethane Casting for many years within our global network. Now, for those needing domestic fulfillment, we’ve strengthened our near-shoring options to include Urethane Casting.
We’re continuing to grow both networks to make sure you have limitless access to our other exciting additions in urethane casting.
Additional Online Materials Options
The expansion of our online materials options gives you even more choices for your Injection Molding-like plastics. Here’s our full list of online materials:
- Acrylic-like: Hard plastic with great clarity
- ABS-like: Hard opaque plastic with good general purpose characteristics
- ABS-like, HT: Hard opaque plastic with higher heat resistance
- ABS-like FR V0: Hard opaque plastic with FR V0 flame rating
- Nylon-like: Hard opaque plastic with impact resistance
- PC-like: Hard transparent plastic with impact resistance
- POM-like: Hard opaque plastic with great lubricity characteristics
- PP-like: Hard opaque plastic with impact resistance
- Opaque Elastomer: Soft opaque plastic for flexible parts
- Transparent Elastomer: Soft transparent plastic for flexible parts
These are all of the online materials, but you can always bring us your use case and we will try to provide a material that will meet your specific needs. Since urethane castings are made from 2-part epoxy urethanes, they will have some characteristics that are different from their molded name sakes, such as chemical resistance or heat deflection.
Additional Online Finish Options
Since the most common reason for going with urethanes is to make show models for presentation, marketing, or user testing purposes, we wanted to improve our available finishes as well. We now offer online:
- Matte
- Glossy
- Light Texture (MT11010 equivalent)
- Medium Texture (MT11020 equivalent)
- Heavy Texture (MT11030 equivalent)
If you have a specific texture you need to match, we can always work with you directly on your urethane parts.
More Online Secondary Options
We are taking some of our popular secondary options and making them available online to make quoting and buying even easier than ever. During the quoting process, you can choose to add paint for the best possible color match, select pad printing or threaded inserts, and receive instant quotes.
At Fictiv, we work every day to be your partner from prototype to production, and we want to make the process easier at every step. We’ll continue to evolve and improve, but welcome your feedback. Get started today. In the meantime, click HERE for a design guide for urethane castings.
